ELISA for the Detection of Nalidixic Acid in Animal Tissues
The MaxSignal® Nalidixic Acid ELISA Test Kit provides a rapid and robust test for the synthetic quinolone antibiotic Nalidixic Acid in a variety of sample types.
The MaxSignal Nalidixic Acid ELISA Test Kit is a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. The plate wells are coated with nalidixic acid antibody. During analysis, sample is added along with the nalidixic acid-horseradish peroxidase (nalidixic acid-HRP) conjugate. If nalidixic acid residue is present in the sample, it will compete for the nalidixic acid antibody, thereby preventing the nalidixic acid-HRP from binding to the antibody attached to the well. The resulting color intensity, after addition of the HRP substrate (TMB), has an inverse relationship with the nalidixic acid residue concentration in the sample.
Nalidixic acid is the first synthetic quinolone antibiotic. It is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria by selectively and reversibly blocking DNA replication in susceptible bacteria.
This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001:2008.
The MaxSignal Nalidixic Acid ELISA Test Kit has the capacity for 96 determinations or testing of 42 samples in duplicate (assuming 12 wells for standards).
Store the kit at 2-8°C.
