Neomycin ELISA with Rapid and Cost-effective Extraction Methods
The MaxSignal® Neomycin ELISA Kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of Neomycin. The unique extraction methods included with the kit are highly robust and outperform competitors' protocols.
The MaxSignal Neomycin ELISA Kit is a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. Neomycin has been coated in the plate wells. During the analysis, sample is added along with the primary antibody specific for the target drug. If the target is present in the sample, it will compete for the antibody, thereby preventing the antibody from binding to the drug attached to the well. The secondary antibody, tagged with a peroxidase enzyme, targets the primary antibody that is complexed to the drug coated on the plate wells. The resulting color intensity, after addition of substrate, has an inverse relationship with the target concentration in the sample.
Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. All the aminoglycosides are potentially toxic compounds causing significant damage in vestibular and auditory functions in human and animals. Nevertheless, they are used in practice because of their antibacterial and antifungal activities so they need to be monitored in our food products. The European Commission established a neomycin Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) of 500 ppb and the US has a MRL of 1200 ppb for meat.
This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001:2008.
PLATE: 1 x 96 well (Removable 8 wells x 12 strips)
MEASUREMENT: Microtiter Plate Reader with 450 nm wavelength (Bioo Cat# 6003-01)
STANDARDS (PPB): 0 / 1.5 / 3 / 6 / 12 / 36
TESTS PER KIT: The kit has the capacity for 96 determinations of 42 samples in duplicate (assuming 12 wells for standards).
