The MaxSignal® Beta-Lactamase Test Pad Kit is designed for routine screening of beta-lactamase in milk. This sensitive kit enables government agencies, food manufacturers, and quality assurance organizations to detect beta-lactamase to as low as 0.8 U/mL.

The beta-lactamase test pad provides a qualitative method for detecting beta-lactamase in milk. Nitrocefin is coated on the pad. If there is beta-lactamase in the milk, it hydrolyzes the beta-lactam ring of nitrocefin, producing cephalosporanic acid. A distinctive color change is associated with this reaction. The pale yellow nitrocefin turns pink after hydrolysis within the time limits of the test.

This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001:2008.
