The MaxSignal® Doramectin ELISA Test Kit for bovine muscle employs a unique extraction method, which makes the kit accurate, rapid, cost effective and easy to use. The MaxSignal Doramectin ELISA Test Kit for bovine muscle is a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. The plate wells have been coated with doramectin. During analysis, sample is added along with primary antibody specific for doramectin. If doramectin is present in the sample, it will compete for the antibody, thereby preventing the antibody from binding to the drug attached to the well. The secondary antibody, tagged with a peroxidase enzyme, targets the primary antibody that is complexed to the drug coated on the plate wells. The resulting color intensity, after addition of substrate, has an inverse relationship with the target concentration in the sample.
This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001:2008.
Doramectin (also known as Dectomax) is a FDA approved derivative of Ivermectin with potent anthelmintic and insecticidal properties. Doramectin is used to treat roundworms, lungworms, eyeworms, grubs, sucking lice and mange mites in cattle. It is also mixed with other medications to treat a wide spectrum of animal parasites. Another major member of this family, abermectin, has proven very effective as an insecticide and is registered for use on many types of crops. Due to expense and complicated testing procedures, the application of HPLC and GC in doramectin residue detection is limited.
The MaxSignal Doramectin ELISA Test Kit for bovine muscle has the capacity for 96 determinations, or testing of 42 samples in duplicate (assuming 12 wells for standards). Return any unused microwells to the foil bag and reseal them with the desiccant provided in the original package. Store the kit at 2-8°C. The shelf life is 12 months when the kit is properly stored.
