Sensitive ELISA for Zearalenone Screening of Food
The MaxSignal® Zearalenone ELISA Test Kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of zearalenone in cereals, dried meat, fish, feed, milk and seed. Zearalenone (also know as ZEA or ZON) is a toxin produced by fungi of the genus Fusarium. It is found worldwide in a number of cereal crops such as maize, barley, oats, wheat, rice and sorghum. Zearalenone is a phytohormone which displays, apart from its anabolic properties, mainly estrogenic effects. Because of its estrogenic properties, zearalenone may induce fertility disorders in animals.
Two versions of MaxSignal Zearalenone ELISA Test Kit are available; Cat # 1035-01, providing the highest sensitivity, and Cat # 1035-03, providing a unique, rapid protocol.
